The essense of being a disciple is learning… one of things I am currently learning is how to be a good “boss”. Last year, God sent Alison, a new staff member, to work under my care… a good staff member I might add too.
She is on a steep learning curve and so am I… I’ve never been a “boss” before. Am I glad I’m not in this alone. I have God, the Perfect Boss Himself to coach me.
Last evening, we reviewed the status of our Bible study group and where I think God is leading us for the coming year. It’s exciting to allow the truths we are learning to “infect” our hearts and lives.
Missions isn’t something “out there” beyond our reach. God has a purpose for each of us to be here. And He has placed us each in our unique network of relationships. That is the circumstance to which He has called and commissioned us.
I look forward to what Jesus is going to lead us to as we partner with Him and each other to become lights for Him.
“Follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”
Been spending time thinking about the past year. I had more things to be thankful for than I realised!
For one thing, the ladies in my support group have been such a blessing to me 
Shirley has grown tremendously despite the major changes she went through last year. From someone who wanted to drop out of the group, she now encourages me so much with her new zeal for the Lord.
Jing took a big leap of faith and plunged into full-time Christian service. We were with her as she wrestled over the major decision. Wow! She really did it… took the big first step. She hasn’t looked back
Ting has been going though a tough time. Only dead things don’t struggle… she is still hanging on – a credit to her and to the grace of God which sustains her.
Dawn’s dad gave the family a couple of scares when he was detected with cancer (the situation is under control) and then later, with a stroke. He’s rehabilitating at the Ang Mo Kio Hospital.
Shiyun joined her this year. It’s like her eyes have suddenly opened to new and exciting things in relation to her faith. What a delight.
My friendship with Xian is growing. We chat online often. Today, she treated me to lunch and introduced me to a guy she got to know… way to go “Naomi” I appreciate your concern for me!
I still miss Ellen who’s gone back to Indonesia after her marriage. Not to mention Yuli whom I’ve kind of lost touch with. I pray we’ll be able to re-connect in God’s time.
Well, there’s lots more to say. Certainly, it’s easy to miss out of the little blessings. Sometimes, they happen right under your nose!
I finally signed up to join the gym today (pat pat on my back)
I got my fitness instructor friend, Zul, to show me around the gym the other day. At least it helped make the machines less intimidating. I discovered that others are just as intimidated by those monsters as I am.
Sigh… I hate my fats… sigh again… I love food! Bad combination. Triple Sigh.
Well, pat pat on my back again… It’s always good to start somewhere
