Mum surprised me the other day. She started talking about the possibilities of taking Dad home again. I supposed I can understand her hesitation all this time. Dad isn’t always easy to manage. Sometimes he gets lost in his own world and it’s hard to reason with him. He can get especially cranky with her. [...]

Sometimes he gets lost in his own world and it’s hard to reason with him. He can get especially cranky with her.
72-year-old Mum has all these years been a care-giver… Her list includes:
- Mama (her mother)
- Ee (her mentally subnormal adopted sister) who lived with us till she was 80+. She’s now residing at an old age home.
- Dad (who’s had several rounds of near death encounters)
- Cindy (20 years of many near death encounters also)
- and for a period of time, Dad’s mum as well.
Now that is quite a list for anyone in one lifetime!
I thank God for Mum; and for God, who can change us.
Wow! Praise God, I’ve managed to almost complete the NavNews, Frankelite, and the Singapore Poly Nav website. I feel good about the writing and design work I’ve done. I read the book of Ecclesiastes the other night before going to bed.
Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given him-for this is his lot. Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work-this is a gift of God. He seldom reflects on the days of his life, because God keeps him occupied with gladness of heart. — Ecclesiastes 5:18-20
When God finished His work of creation, He rested on the seventh day. He stepped back and enjoyed what He had done. How good it is to be able to take pleasure in the creative work I’ve done. That is a pleasure that few know.
I thank God that He has given me meaningful work to do.
How true that statement is. I’ve been thinking about the abuse of Iraqi Prisoners of War by American soldiers. The liberator has become the tyrant! God only knows the real intentions of President Bush and his administration when they went to war with Saddam Hussein. His noble desire (God knows) has obviously not filtered down [...]

I’ve been thinking about the abuse of Iraqi Prisoners of War by American soldiers. The liberator has become the tyrant!
God only knows the real intentions of President Bush and his administration when they went to war with Saddam Hussein. His noble desire (God knows) has obviously not filtered down to his foot soldiers in the battle front.
Ultimate power corrupts ultimately. Is there any one who can handle power without allowing it to corrupt them?
Which brings me to my point:
My responsibility to pray for our leaders, for they are, in the final analysis, human just like myself, subjected to the corruption of sin in our lives. God alone can wield power in a person so that that power works out for good, not evil.

nice!
So many things have happened in the past month…
- I kept up with my friends
- I’m still trying to keep up with my mornings at the gym
- I spent time with mum and dad
- I visited some friends overseas
- I’ve been enjoying my new digital camera
- I’ve done quite a bit of writing
- I did lots of praying, thinking, planning about work
- I’ve been waiting on the Lord for His direction and answers to prayer
- I’m desperately trying to meet my deadlines for two publications I am working on and a book cover I’m supposed to design
- I went back to the traditional way of journaling… writing in my diary (there’s such a thing as pen and paper you know!)
There’s life outside the Net for sure!
